B.O.S.C. Comics

Willie and Jerrod Smith, the Brothers of Spontaneous Combustion, started BOSC Comics in 2010 when they launched their website BOSCcomics.com.  Their primary title for the past few years has been the action-comedy webcomic, BlackGuard.  The goal of the Smith brothers is not to just make comics for African Americans, but to make comics anyone can enjoy that happen to star black characters.

Will has been drawing and creating his own characters since childhood. Though he studied sequential art at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), his skills are mostly self-taught.  When not drawing comics, Will spends most of his spare time at his keyboard making beats.

Following his brother’s lead, Jerrod has grown up creating original characters and stories. After receiving a degree in computer science at Clemson University, he decided he wanted to make his long-time passion his career.  He occasionally does stand-up comedy when he’s not working on comic books.
